Empowered & Safe Project

The Empowered and Safe Project aims to provide comprehensive accommodation-based services for individuals experiencing domestic abuse and vulnerable persons. Our holistic support package includes mental health services, assistance with welfare and benefit claims, long-term legal support, counselling, emotional and psychological support, as well as access to social activities and community engagement. The project also incorporates empowerment workshops, such as ‘Set me Free,’ ‘Self-esteem and Confidence-Building,’ and ‘Music for Healing,’ amongst others.

Project Objectives

Accommodation Purchase:

Secure funding for the purchase of 2 Properties and 5-year leases on 5 properties dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families in need.

Support Services:

Deliver mental health support, legal assistance, counselling, and referrals to other specialist agencies.

Establish a dedicated support unit focusing on trauma, recovery, and addressing the aftermath of abuse.

Empowerment Workshops:

Conduct workshops like ‘Health Improvement and Healthy Relationships’ to promote personal development and resilience.

Community Engagement:

Provide access to social activities, employment opportunities, and a food distribution service.

Funding Request

We are seeking a total funding of £1M to initiate and sustain the Empowered and Safe Project. The funds will be utilised as follows:

Provision of Accommodation:

Acquiring dedicated properties to offer a secure environment for those seeking refuge from domestic abuse.

Support Services:

Funding mental health support, legal assistance, counselling, and specialised trauma recovery programs.

Empowerment Workshops: 

Covering expenses for materials, facilitators, and program coordination to empower individuals through various workshops.

Community Engagement:

Establishing social activities, employment opportunities, and a food distribution service to actively engage and support the community.

Administration and Overheads: 

Covering operational costs to ensure the smooth running of the project.
